About IQAC
As per the UGC and NAAC guidelines, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established in the college in 2015. The quality sustenance of higher education institutions is an important aspect. The quality is sustained in terms of evaluation, assessment, and accreditation. Quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC plays an important role in enhancing the quality and it is a part of the institution’s system & works towards the realization of the goals. IQAC aims to develop a smooth system for sensible, continuous, reliable and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution. The IQAC works for the development of quality culture, it also monitors the enhancement of various activities of the institution and also ensures coordination among various departments, and creates a dynamic system for quality changes in the institute.
Vision of IQAC
IQAC facilitate and contribute –
- To ensure quality culture as the prime concern of the institute through institutionalizing and internalizing all the initiatives taken with internal and external support.
- To the enhancement and integration among the various activities of the institution.
- To create better internal communication.
- To develop a sense of social responsibility among students through extension activities.
Strategies of IQAC
IQAC evolves mechanisms and procedures for-
- Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks
- The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes
- Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes forvarious sections of society
- Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching andlearning
- The credibility of evaluation procedures
- Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services
Benefits of IQAC-
IQAC will -
- Ensure heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement.
- Ensure internalization of the quality culture.
- Ensure enhancement and coordination among various activities of the institution and institutionalize all good practices.
- Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning.
- Act as a dynamic system for quality changes in HEIs.
- Build an organised methodology of documentation and internal communication.
Composition of IQAC
As per the guidelines of NAAC the composition of the IQAC is outlined below:
- Chairperson: Head of the Institution
- A few Senior Administrative Officers
- Three to eight Teachers
- One member from the Management, for example Member of the Executive Council of the University
- One/two nominees from Local Society, Students and Alumni
- One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/Stakeholders
- One of the Senior Teachers as the Coordinator/Director of the IQAC
